Acupuncture

What is acupuncture?

Acupuncture is one discipline in a complex tradition of Chinese medicine dating back to at least the first century B.C.. In the Nei Jing, the earliest major source on acupuncture, the human body is regarded as a microcosmic reflection of the macrocosm of the universe. Needles are placed in specific locations in order to influence the movement of Qi (energy) throughout the body.

Why acupuncture?

Acupuncture can provide relief from painful conditions such as headache and low back pain. In a study at the Veteran’s Administration the use of acupuncture was associated with a decrease use of medications including: Opiates, benzodiazepines, and muscle relaxants.

Acupuncture has relatively few risks in comparison to medications, surgery, and procedures.

Acupuncture can be a part of maintaining health and energy.
